Ok SO I have a snow flake morey eel and we have had him in the same tank for almost a year now. We just had to move the tank to the other side of our living room. It was down but filtered and air we just had to take out lots of the rock. So we put all the rock did a 80% water change all the levals are great my sg is at .026 . The problem is since we moved the tank my eel will not eat anything offered, Its been 2 weeks now. He usally will take down a feeder fish no prob. Nothing he just swims away from it. I offered Krill blood worms muscles and crabs. Hes not eating. Any ideas on what to do? what is a morey eels chocolate? other then the not eating hes acting fine any ideas would be great thanks :eek3:

The poster OldManOfTheSea knows a lot about eels. He'll want as much information as you can provide. All the numbers from your test kits, why you did a 80% WC, size of you tank, what equipment you're running, everything you can about the eel, etc.

Eel's will sometimes go for weeks without eating. It's normal behavior for them.
Try putting the food right in front of his face, if he moves, chase him with it.

Eel starvation

I have had an eel that did not eat for nine months!! It did live, even when I moved to another state. I have a friend who had one that did not eat for an entire year. SO , try silversides, squid, or fresh shrimp or crab if it is not too expensive.

wow ive heard of snakes not eating for a year but an eel? thats pretty wild.
