Yeah, that is what it looks like.

Here is what has been happening. Last week I lost a female guppy in a matter of hours. She had a small lesion forwrd of her vent. Just a raw spot. Now I have a pregnat guppy that has what I can only describe as a membrane hanging out of her, and all around her gravid spot seems to be rupturing. I can actually see one tiny vein hanging out from her side as well. She is pregnant (aren't they all) and just passed one dead fry. She seems to be fairly distressed.

This planted tank is 3 months old and contains 2 small corydoras paleatus, one male and two female guppies.

Does anybody have a clue of what is going on here???

Had something similer happen to one of my females a few months back. She died while giving birth and no fry passed, only a bit yellowish "gunk" that stuck to her underside untill she died. My grotesque nature led me to perform a haphazrd "c-section" with my ever so handy exacto knife, and although i made an effort, all the 'fry' was in a liquid state. I figured she just had a hard preganancy and didnt make it. Weird stuff, hope she starts to pass some live fry and makes it through......

my guppy did the exact same thing about 5 days ago. I put her in my QT tank and within a couple days there were 6 babies in the tank and shortly after it appeared as if the hole with the veins popping out closed up. Theres still a red mark there but she seems to be healing. I assume she had some trouble during birth.

Well, she passed to he great aquarium in the sky. My suspicion is that it was a troubled birth, maybe due to her being to young, unhealthy, or ???

Thanks for everybodies input.
