help! help!! ASAP

i put in live rock in my fish tank a couple of days ago that my dad got me as a present. I figured he got me cured rock so i jsut put it into my tank. but for some reason a couple days later he told me that the rock was uncurred...
is this bad?? what should i do? should i take the rock out or leave it in..
i took some ammonia and nitrite test and they read
Ammonia-0.0
Nirtrite-.4
what should i do.. suggestions please

Since there is no ammonia I would suggest doing a water change and if you have the ability take the rock back out and allow it to finish cureing in a different body of water than your main tank. If you can not seperate the rock do your water tests daily or twice daily if you are getting less than desireable results and try to keep the parameters in check that way.
 
so the rock will make my ammonia levels rise? so far the rock has been in my water for 6 days. i dont have any other tank to put the live rock in so.. any more suggestions??
 
yes your tests will rise if its not cured JUST separate the rock if there is room in your main tank then make sure you got water movement around the rock via a power head etc & once your water test`s ok for a week your good to goyes as your rock will have fully cured but if you do get bad test`s off your water then just do water changes

you do not need the light on to cure your live rock.......

this problem will soon past

Do you have fish or inverts in the tank?
 
if it has been there for 6 days and none of your levels are getting worse, then it should be fine. do a water change to get rid of the nitrates, however, and monitor your levels in case there is a sudden spike.
it wouldnt hurt to seperate them, but if those tests are accurate, it isnt hurting it to leave them in there.
 
But the nitrite is high so does that change your oppinion???

actualy.... yes.... lol. for some reason... i didnt see that? lol...darn
it would be good to take them out. you can even use a plastic rubbermaid container. as suggested, all you need is a heater and a powerhead.
however, i would still suggest doing a water change on your main tank.
