Hi! I just recently purchased a zig zag eel and I have a striped peacock eel. They eat live food just fine, but I don't want them to get parasites from them and I don't want worms burrowing and rotting underneath my gravel. How would I go about making the frozen food seem more enticing to them? Will they grow to like it on their own? Please help.

What frozen food are you trying? Try adding one worm at a time until you see it caught by the eels. The Mastacembelus know how to hunt down worms simply by digging where they can detect the worms. I find these species rather fussy with foods and will not eat commercial foods that easily. I handfeed mine with frozen foods.

I would like to be able to hand feed mine too one day and I'll try adding worms one at a time. I've been trying to feed them the Omega brand frozen bloodworms. If they do not accept these, then should I keep trying or should I feed them live worms so that they don't starve?

Try the live worms and add garlic extract on the bloodworms. Bloodworms are often relish too much by predatory fish. The garlic should stimulate its appetite. Give them time before they eventually become accustomed to your hand.:) I had to be patient waiting for them to appear from their hiding. They got the message later on.
