Congrats on your new tank. I think if you could talk your parents into the 20 you would be so much happier. You would have a lot more options with it and in my newbie opinion, the larger tanks are easier to maintain than the smaller. I have never kept goldfish because I have always had tropical fish. Keep us updated on how you make out with your parents
It's tough when just starting because you get so many conflicting opinions. There is TONS of people willing to give you some really helpful information. Read up on cycling...it is so valuable to be loaded with the information to do what's best for your fish.
OH...does the BSU happen to stand for Ball State??? I'm a proud grad of there! LOL
