Help! I dropped my snail.

Thanks Jacki, I've had the lights out and just now checked on her. She was eating on some snail jello I put in the breeder trap for her. She must be feeling better. I feel very relieved.

I'm going to watch her closely for a few days and keep her in the breeder trap so she won't tax herself crawling around looking for food.

Poor little thing cringed when I used a flashlight to check on her. She must be feeling pretty uncertain of her safety. I hope she forgets the bad experience.

Thanks Lups. I'm feeling a lot better, too, lol.

I usually cringe when someone (usually my toddler) shines a flashlight on me out of the darkness... I wouldn't take it personally! I also can't imagine snails have very long memories. There's "those are the fingers of food" and "look, food" and "hey, get those dang shrimp off of me" and "oh, food" and "naptime" and "pooptime" and .... well, really, if you were a snail, would you even WANT to remember any of those things?

lol mostly thoughts along the lines of food and pooping with some nap thoughts strewn about.

:rofl:Wendamus and Pik01!!! Thanks for your insights into the workings of the snail mind. Those are exactly the thoughts...I was thinking... she thinks about. :)

Also maybe, "Hey!! that's not a worm that's my antennae!!"

And also "Get out from under me you little frog, I'm not a rock!!"

Sounds like she's on the mend! It must have been nerve-wracking for both of you.

i had one that i dropped the bag during transport, luckily she has regrowth and must be happy enough as she is a mommy now too.
