:help: hi i just got a new blue acara yesterday..it's in a 4 ft by 18" tank by itself and it is extremely shy and constantly hides.
i was wondering if there was anything i could do like
add friends for it etc?
also does anyone know what their preffered tank mates are and also what their preffered food is.
currently feeding them flakes, meel worms and frozen brine shrimp.
thanks

:welcome: to AC!

Please be patient with your fish. Give it plenty of time until it settles well in your tank.:) With acaras, you can pick giant danios as their tankmates along with severums or firemouths.

I agree with Lupin, giving it time will make it be less "Shy", but adding the dithers like danios or a school of Buenos Aires tetras will help greatly.

the blue acara was in my 4ft tank originally but i switched it over bcoz my oscar needed more space! it is now in my 3ft tank and it loves it..it very rarely hides and is extremely happy!!
i'm very glad it is more comfortable now!
thankyou for your help..
