Help, I think i need counseling

debaric - I'm just not sure you thought things through before posting; you reached out to a community of people, claiming to be suicidally depressed. People became concerned and wanted to help you, not knowing you were 'making a joke'. Personally, I don't think making light of a very serious illness is funny, and probably not the best way to ease any tension you sense on the board. I'm sorry you lost your fish, BTW.

First of all, depressed people have zero problems with their "sanity" unless their is some other mental illness present. They have a psychological thought process that causes a downward spiral in to despair. Rationally speaking, sometimes suicide seems to be the only viable option for a severely depressed person.

Second of all, coming from someone who suffered a year long depression complete with suicidal thoughts and is still in the recovery stages, this is not at all amusing. I was genuinely concerned for you, and until I read your second post, was in the process of gathering together the online depression research materials and phone numbers that saved my life to send to you.

I apologize... I know that suicide and depression is a very serious subject and has probably affected some of you in this room. Im sure I could have worded things differently to make it obvious that I was only trying to kid around.

If you want to ban me thats fine, but shouldnt I be banned for using a poor choice of words to joke around rather than "lying?" Lying in itself isnt exactly something that can hurt anyone on these boards.
 
I don't mean to go off topic but what exactly is trolling? I hear a lot about people doing this, and was kind of curious. :confused:

Hey guys, stop overreacting, they said they're sorry..Why does everyone who does something dumb on here have to be crucified for 40 posts before anyone will think of letting someone off the hook? Jeez...
