I was at a local restuarant this morning and the had 250g Reef Tank.

One of the coolest thing i saw was something that looked like a clam (i think) but at the tips of it looked liked electricity running through it.

WHAT IS IT?????

Sounds like an Electric Flame Scallop. Did it have a shell with red feeler-type extensions at the opening with little blue "jolts" of electricity running through? If so then it is an Electric Flame Scallop. Hope this helps.

so how hard is it to keep one?

And are they expensive??

All flame scallops generally have pretty short life spans in captivity but maybe if you target fed them they might last longer. Where you put one in your tank is more than likely not where it will stay as it will propel itself to a spot it likes and sometimes it is in a hole behind all the rock work where it soon dies. I've never kept one but this is what I have have heard stories and read. Anyway, one hope this helps and prive according to these guys is 17.99.
