i got these plecos from a friend but I'm not sure what type they are...any help would be appreciated.

Also how much does this type of pleco usually costs in the stores? The big one is about 7 inches long and the smaller one is about 4-5 inches.

Thanks

The darker one (one the right) looks like a Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus to my untrained eye (it's the only one I know). If you really want to know for sure you can post top and side vews of them at this website and they will give you an answer.

They even have a forum called "Pleco Identification" were you can post your question.

the lighter one looks like a gibbiceps.

In other words, you have 2 common plecos that get big. They eat algea and DRIFTWOOD. As they get bigger they will need more of a variety, including more protein.
