help!! im lost and dont know what to do

From everything I have heard/read, I will have to agree with the other posts. Upgrade or return. Get the store credit and get something more suited for your 55g.

If your father is determined to get you something, give him a short list of fish YOU know would be good for your tank size (make the list short in case he decides to get them all!).
 
My Yellow Tang got aggressive towards my other fish. At one stage she reversed into my clown and speared her right in the eye. My clown had a really bad eye for a while. The tang has also pecked at my feather dusters and chased my other fish. I've had her 3 years and i could tell her whole personality had changed - she wasn't happy. I was going to trade her in for a Mandarin but upgraded to a 187 (US)gal instead!!
 
Clown Tangs rarely survive in captivity in this hobby. Sometimes I wonder why they sell them. They need HUGE tanks but almost all die in under a year with very few exceptions.

My buddy thought he could handle one, despite the documented survival rates (and he's been keeping fish for the last 20+ years), but unfortunately both of his attempts failed.

Yellow Tangs like to swim back and forth a lot. Tangs seem to be such a controversial subject on all aquaria boards. I personally would not keep in one in a 55G but I know some would, and do.

At the very least I would definitely get rid of the Clown Tang.

People mean well and don't realize when they're buying a fish that there's a lot more to consider. Would your dad be willing to bring one or both of them back?
 
he would be wilign to bring them back, but hopefully the store will give me some store credit. if the dont take atleast one fish back im gona be a ltitle pissed lol.
 
take them both its not fair to the fish who REQUIRES!!! ample room to swim.
 
well my dad doesnt want to send them back, he syas they are his fish:silly: ... hopefully sooner or later he will change his mind once the clown dies, i dont think the clown will last that long. well naywyz thanks for the help guys and ehre are some pics taht my dad sent me
