As you may have read in my original thread where I lost my fish...

http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66477

I just saw another shark begin to exhibit the same behavior! Tank is been set up all water readings normal, I am doing 50% water change just in case.

Please anyone!

Ok,, I just read the other thread...

How long have you had this tank?

Is it cycled?

What are you water readings?

Why would you use anything from the original tank in the hospital tank? The hospital tank is suppose to be seprated from what you want to quarantine. You may have added bad tank parameters to the hospital tank by adding the water and decorations.

You state that you had these sharks since 1/2006 --

How did you aclimate them?

No I have had this group since October. Tank is just as old. I have had balas before when i lived in GA and kept them for years.

Water readings are normal:
Nitate: 20
Nitrite: 0
Hardness: 70
Alk: 40
PH: 7.2
Ammonia: 0

On another note, I have noticed what look to be like white "fuzzy" particles in my hospital tank which I left running since the other shark died. I did notice some of the same in my main tank which I sucked up when I was changing water.

I'll try to take a pic of it to see if anyone can identify. Btw. Just changed 50% of my water, the shark in question has not done the "flip" since and is swimming peacefully in the powerhead current.

Also, should I treat the tank with Maracyn-2?

I have been reading that these issues may be related to swim or air bladder problems. I have also found that this may be due to too much flake food during the morning feeding. I usually feed them frozen blood worms at night when I get home.

Considering that my fiance has been doing the morning feed for the last week, if this is an air or swim bladder condition, it may be that shes feeding them too much in the mornings which does place the condition within the right timeframe.

I have treated my tank with maracyn-2, just incase there is an infection and will immediately cease morning feedings for the time being. I will also pick up some frozen peas which i read might help.

Any other advise I should follow?
