I am having trouble getting fish that will get along. Right now I have 5 tiger barbs, a pictus cat, pleco, betta, and angel. I will be moving my barbs to another tank as they are eating my angel and now chasing my betta. What else can I put in my 55 gallon? What would work well with the rest of them? I want to get neons but will they be ok with my angel(if he makes it). What about a kissing gourmi? I wouldd like to get another angel but I don't know. I want to have some feedback before I buy any more.

Please get your barbs away fromt he angelfish and betta immediately. Tigerbarbs will harass these fish to no end, possibly killing them. As far as what else will go with your fish, I can't help much there, my two major tanks are full of tiger barbs and gouramis, I haven't mixed fish too much. I think the neons might become angel food if I remember some other posts correctly. My recommendation would be to search the web for sites that list fish compatibility. They are not 100% correct, but usually if you can get agreement between the majority of the sites it is a good chance the fish will be compatible. Two that I have used as GUIDELINES ONLY are below:

The angels will make a meal out of the neons. If you could find some larger cardinal tetras you could try them instead of neons. The kissing gourami can get to 12", so a 55gal would be to small for it. You could get a few more angels if you wanted, but if you end up with a pair you'll need to find a new home for the others. In my 55 I have a breeding pair of angels and a pair of bristlenose plecos.
Platy's or Swordtails would probably work. Dwarf Gouramis maybe. You could try another Angel, but not until your recovers a little.
