Nice job with the 10gal. That gives you some time to work your friend up to a 55 or larger. I hesitate to say this, but maybe show him some of the beautiful fish that can live in a 55gal which he could never get into a 10gal? Though that has it's risks too...

well the shark died. he is reading online stuff. somewhere he read he could keep a betta in a 10g with a school of cories and he wants to do that.... I thought bettas couldnt be kept with other fish...

I keep trying to tell him to stick to here but he will not listen

A betta and a school of cories should work fine. Male bettas(the splendens varieties) can not be kept together, but they are peaceful with other fish.

They do sell 1 gallon corner tanks...small size aside they have horrendous dimensions too.

My grandma just bought one for her betta. Was probably better off in the 1/2-3/4g it was living in that actually gave it room to move. There is a tube going up the center that has a bubbler in it. They think that it is a filter. I watched her feed the betta about 30x what it needed and herd her say eat you stupid thing. I know why it wasnt moving much. The ammo, nitrites, and nitrates were way high in that tank. They have been so busy moving into their new house that she hasnt done a wc in well over a month. I would have said something, but my grandpa knows about fishkeeping and that the betta still isnt in good conditions. But he has tried saying something, and it is useless. Maybe since I am the grandson she would listen, but I doubt it if she wont listen to my grandpa who used to have over 100g of aquariums set up in their house and kept them clean.
