Help me convince my friend his tank set ups are wrong!!!!!

Tetras can work with a betta, it just depends on the type of tetra and how laid back the betta is. Neons or glowlights would work.
ok so he jsut figured out what the pretty tetras he saw where.... i swear sometimes i wanna take a bat to his head........

That's perfectly fine for a ten... Just tell him to ditch the cories. But he does need to sell the other fish if he wants those...
Yeah I think the betta and neons(6 to 8) would work well. In a 20 long, he could get a bigger school of neons and add the cories.
If he has started reading online about fish keeping, it is a step in the right direction. He will continue to make mistakes that will drive you nuts, but think of him as in his infancy (so to speak) in the hobby. Children make all kinds of mistakes that drive parents nuts.
