Okay, I have to admit, I am kind of stupid...

I ordered a new tank online and its not coming until the end of next week.

I already bought some driftwood and its being soaked, and it is my intent to have java fern and anubias growing on them. So I went to the LFS and bought java fern and anubias so I can tie them down already, but then I also found a few other plants that I liked so I bought them too.

When I came home, I came to the realization that these plants won't have a home for about a week. Right now they are in a big jar filled with water, and their roots are not planted in any sort of gravel. I keep the jar by the window so it can get some light... I'm so stupid, please let me know if the plants will be okay like this for a week.

The plant names from the receipt are: Crypt Becketii, Cabomba, Radican Sword, and Nomaphila Siamensis.

yeah.. they'll probably be fine. i'd put them in a sunny window or under a light.

Its just a plastic container... I have the cap off... just a temporary holding bin.

Thanks for the good news, and now I know... next time, I'll wait for my tank to come before buying plants or fish (haha, but I already knew that part).

I ordered an eclipse 12 that comes with a 13watt full spectrum light. I made sure the plants were low to moderate light only. I'm not sure how they'll do, but I know the java fern and anubias will do fine.

that sword will not do well in only 1.1 WPG, only the crypt, anubias, and java fern will.

DOh! I guess I'll put it in, if it dies, then I lose $2.49. So much for asking the guy at the LFS that boasted, "I don't have plants in my tank!"
