I have now knocked the idea of having a Trigger on the head (until I win the lottery and can have another big tank). I'm now considering getting a

Radiant Wrasse (Halichores iradius)

and a

Checkerboard Wrasse (Halichoeres hortulanus)

My current tank mates are:
9 chromis
1 Yellow Tang
1 Maroon Clown
1 Lawnmower Blenny
1 Sixspot sleeper Goby
1 Mandarin Dragonet
1 Cleaner Wrasse
1 Dot-dash Flasher wrasse
2 Bangaii cardinals

The tank is 182 gallons and well established. All params are great and constant.

Is this is a good idea or not. I know they are reef safe but MAY go after fan worms, small snails, and ornamental shrimps. Will feed in fireworms, flatworms (particularly like that bit) and pyramidellid snails.

I am able to move things around as someone can always share with Titch and Hermmie!!!

If you think I'm over stocked - shout up (I always do, but I can never judge my own tank with same strictness!!!!)

Have you had any problems mixing wrasses (this is your cue nycsictank!!!)

All comments welcome!!!

I have a radiant wrasse, the only one that survived the tank disaster. I love him. Model citizen. Hasn't gone after anything in my tank. he's about 3 inches and takes up every inch of my 75g. I know when I upgrade he'll take up all of that as well.

no theres much of a problem only few chasing around between Exquisite and melanurus no harm. ill choose those two or one depending what you like. melanurus has more personality than my exquisite. i just hope my melanurus turns out to be male(more colors) hehe
i wish Halichores wrasses werent sand freaks, its cool to see how they bury them self into sand but when once you see that, you wont see them until the next day. (it feel likes you have no fish lol)

in the future ill be getting potter leopard wrasses

I would go for the radiant wrasse...The checkerboard wrasse can grow to around about 10 inches or more.....which i feel is too big even for your tank size Ali...

Is that because of how many other fish I have or the tank itself is too small? I'd love to have a big fish!!

*coughqueenangelcough* :grinyes: lol

I know I'm getting bad!!! My only defence is I never in a million years guessed that my dad would buy me a 182 gal tank. I knew I wouldn't be able to afford one, so I never planned on having big fish. Of course now I have one.........:grinyes:
