yea grass is what im thinking after reviewing my options. im going to try again to get my DIY CO2 to work, if i can get it to work do you all think i could grow glosso?

Possibly,but pressurized would work better for it.There are lots are easier things to grow for a carpet in a 10.

How fast depends on nutrients, lights, ect.

You plant it like all "grass-like" plants. Just plant the roots.

HC can be pretty demanding. I have Riccia as my carpet and, although it is also light/co2 dependant, it's alot easier to grow than glosso or HC. Looks choice too!

Loaded question...there's a HUGE variety of stem plants out there.

Looking for something bushy? Reddish? Broadleaved? etc, etc. Need to narrow that down.
