Parameters:
- 29 gallon tank
- 8 gal. sump running @ 130 gph
- filter floss & shower poofs for filter media
- fishless cycled
- pH 7.6
- GH 11 - 12
- two 10W and two 20W CFLs in a white-painted hood (they are wired separately - the plan is to run the two 10W for 8 - 10 hours / day and add the two 20W for a few hours in the middle of the day)
- small black gravel
- I have dry ferts to do EI dosing
- I have done / can do DIY CO2, and would be interested in doing that in this tank

Stocking (I'm going to move the fish from my two 10 gal tanks into this 29 gal tank)
- 5 Cherry Barbs
- 2 Platys
- 2 American Flag fish
- 6 Cardinal Tetras
- 4 Kuhli Loaches

You can see the VERY NICE piece of driftwood I bought from D.S Drifter.

I have done Java Ferns, Wisteria (there's a little of this floating in the tank), and Java Moss in my 10 gal tanks.

I would appreciate your suggestions for what to plant and even where to plant it to provide a nice aquascape.

hey woolfam, ill be rescaping my 55g in a week or two. if you havent got that tank filled up by then there will be some plants from it that id happily contribute to your new set up!

Anubias come in a variety of sizes and are very hardy. I think they would do very well with your tank and your fish.

I planted bunches of cabomba (4 stalks each) in the rear sides of my 29 gallon tank and thought it looked pretty good. From there I surrounded the cabomba with hygro.

On my driftwood I planted Crypt undulata, which in time will become the centerpiece of my aquarium, I heard its leaves can grow up to 12 inches long.

what do you mean white painted hood? like it doesnt have reflector? if so you need to get some reflector asap, ahsupply has some good ones you can retrofit into the hood.

I do not have a metal reflector in the hood. I just painted the inside of the hood flat white. Granted, I probably lose some efficiency that way, but I'm all about economy. I've spent less than $100 on this set up so far.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm makin' a list...
