i just planted my 5.5g cube. 25L with dimensions approximately 30cmX30cmX30cm. with driftwood.

I want fishes which doesnt require live or frozen food. I wan fishes tat are fine with pellets and flakes and also algae. I want fishes which could thrive in water temperatures of 29degrees celcius. I am having a hard time getting my water temp down..

At first im thinking of a really really really TINY schooling fish? can anyone suggest some to me?
Then i would want 2 ottos, maybe pygmy cory? and a dozen red cherry shirmps. I would love a few more fishes which are mid dwellers that would enjoy the plants. How about honey dwarf gouramis? Do they do well with pellet food?

please no bettas. no dwarf puffers.

thank you!!

I'd agree with neons, maybe some guppys as well. Cory's would probably be a bit cramped in there as would the honey gourami (unless she was the only thing in there). You could maybe do the honey gourami and the oto but I wouldn't add a whole lot more. Our honey's live off flakes and seem to do pretty well.

your tank is a bit to small to have a school of fish and then gave a group of otos of corydoras. plus, otos make alot of waste for their size. the shrimp would be fine though.

your tank could hold 5 neons

correct me if im wrong.. isnt otto suppose to be the "perfect" tankmate? it is said that they do not produce much waste and help with algae control.. =)

now im thinking no corys.. what other bottom dwelers can i have?

hmm what do you think about 1betta, 3guppies, 1 otto, 12shrimps...

Male bettas can be territorial and might hurt the guppies if they are the fancy variety. Maybe, the guppies, Otto and shrimps? Thats working out so far in my tank and fancy guppies can be so gorgeous.

I'd go with about 4 neons, some rasborras, and the shrimp.

yeah i want fishes.. please no neons..they did so badly in my previous setup...they just hover off the gravel and dont do much.. hey one question..will dwarf puffers make snacks out of red cherry shrimps?

I saw a listing for miniature bumble bee gobies that supposedly didn't grow past .6"... they would be perfect. in fact, check out this thread about nano fish from last week:

um... well, 10 minutes of searching, it looks like that thread has been deleted. I wonder why? anyway, here is the link we discussed, with many tiny options: http://www.franksaquarium.com/nanofish.htm
