Help me take a decision about bloat

Would it be OK if all my fishes do this fasting period?

from what i have read on some bloat issues it sounds like soybean meal in high concentrations could be an issue i would look at the ingried's on your foods and determine if your fish is recieving to much soybean also just an opinion i would cut back on the spirulina/veggies a bit and maybe go with some frozen foods aye and i know that they require some algae but it sounds like that is basically all they get in form of foods on your part, the Metronidazole would work to help clear bloat if that is what it is also the old age remedy epsom salts at 2 tlb spoons per 10gal would work as well, good luck buddy..

Well my friends, just to give you the last update:
This story have a sad ending. I found the yuvie albino socolofi dead 15 min ago. It happened almost after 42 hours of fasting period and same time since I noticed him with fast breathing for the very first time.
Now, I have some questions and feel really concerned:
1) Can constipation kill a fish that fast?
2) Could it be something else; as bloat?
3) Should I then treat the whole tank now with Metronidazole or should I wait to see if another fish appears with the same symptoms?
I have lost 2 fishes now with these symptoms and don't want to loose another one in this way. Please, help me answering my questions.
By the way, thanks a lot for your help and for your replies to this thread!!!

It sounds like they could be consuming too much food in that 2-3 minutes. I would try feeding twice a day only half the amount at each meal.

Hi again,my friends!
I think this is a great advice, mostlycichlids! I will do that from now on.
Thanks again to all of you folks! And answer my last 3 questions, please.

Hi!
Sorry, I feel this is not a fair play; but I'm bumping the thread to see if any friend can answer my last 3 questions.
Thanks!

yes fish can die from constipation from fasting, yes it could be something entirely different via internal parasites and yes you could wait to see if the issue arises with doing something different like letting them fast and or changing foods if things change for the better when you switch foods or from fasting than i would say you found your problem if not than you may need to treat the tank as for me treating a tank is my last resort and usually more than often i will euthanize the sick fish to stop the cycle but this is my opinion everyone has one, good luck..

Thanks for your answers to my 3 questions, pittbull! As you say, I will change foods adding a different one; make them fast sometimes and if issues arise again, then I will use the last resource: treat the tank with Met. Hope this works without the need of any med treatment!
Thank you, again!!!

no worries aye glad to have helped out buddy, take care..
