HELP ME!

How long has it been liek that? I just euthanised an angelfish with this condition, It could be alot of things but i concluded it was a swim bladder infection, this could be caused by spoiled food, or simplya result of old age, much Alzheimer's or cancer in humans, If it is a becterial infection you could try some maracyn and see if it comes around, if its too late for the fish it may have permanent swim bladder damage which would mean there is nothing that can be done.

Thanks for all your help.

Poor little Raphael passed away within a few minutes of my post. I feel just sick, but am pretty sure it was due to overeating. I have been putting in alot more food than usual becuase "somebody" in my tank has been killing others. I figured if I added a little more food...the killings would cease. Apparently, Raphael didn't know when to stop. His scales never did stick out ( if he had them, I couldn't see any ) so, I'm not sure about dropsy....all of my other fish seem to be doing fine. I was afraid I would have an epidemic on my hands, but so far, everyone else is acting fine. I did also find that one of my canister filters had quit working, so maybe the tank was dirtier than normal, but all of my water tests were fine. I guess sometimes, you just loose somebody you love. :(
Thanks again for all your suggestions. I will know next time to try the pea.

I'm sorry about your fish, Kim. If it's any consolation, it may not be your fault. Sometimes this happens and we never find out the reason.

Rough luck...

So sorry for your loss. I have a striped rapheal in my 125 and if anything would happen to him I would be just sick about it. I have had him for years and is one of the original fish in this tank. Again sorry for your loss. Sometimes death is just inevitable weather we want to think that way or not. Your fish is in a much better place now in the great fish river in heaven.
