oki have my tank set-up for almost four weeks so now the trouble begins. (i think) i went to a very reputabile pet store in town and just needed live rock so i wasnt to worried about anything.so i bought live rock and dead rock just for base rock. they sold me coral-vital and reef calcium just to get things growning on the dead rock. they told me to just give the tank a cap full a week of each well i read the direction and it said to everyday. so i did might of skipped a day here and there but not anything big. well tonight i was looking at my tank and the algae is pretty bad on the glass and bad on the bed but then to my horror i was looking and you can actually see like little worms crawling around. what do i do i was looking and it said they werent a big deal as long as you stayed on top of them because the fish would eat them but i am looking atleastthree weeks until then. so help me please :bowing:

All of the tiny animals like that more likely came from the live rock, and they are desirable as detrivores. Thier population depends on how much food is available. Also dont add anything unless you can test for it, unless you have corals or alot of corraline algae you shouldnt need to add calcium.

We would actually need a little better explanation of what these "worms" look like. If they are on the glass, they are more than likely copapods which are not a problem and probably wont stick around long.

You should test for calcium. Adding calcium to any system that has live rock is a good idea if you want things to grow. I would however hold off on the coral-vital. If this is the product by Mark Weise, I have not had real good luck with it except to grow algae and diatoms.
