Help, I was doing my weekly tank maintanence and I accidentlay got the input noozle of the filter out of the water and it took in some air and the output of the filter becomes a trickle. I tried self priming the filter but it wouldnt take any water in, I then tried disassembling the whole filter and follow the procedure in the booklet to start the filter, but the filter refuses to take in water and it produces loud noises when i plug it into the power source

What should I do now? I increase the aeration and change 25% of the water....help please

i've used fluval cannisters for almost 10 years. this is what i would do...

seal your cannister and fill with as much water as possible, and if you can, run water into one hose until water overflows out of the other. connect the cannister back to the hoses in the aquarium, and start priming it like usual. if that still doesn't work, tilt the entire cannister at an angle, making sure all hoses are securely attached and all shut-off valves are open. this will flow water into the propeller chamber and start the siphoning. this 'last ditch' method has ALWAYS worked for me. good luck.
