I want to boil my Malaysian DW. How long do I let it boil for?

Boil it for a few hours then drain the water and do it again. You will be surprised the color change in the water. When i boiled my mopani wood the water was a deep redish brown

it does some, but you should have a huge pot.lol, how big is the driftwood?..

I boil mine, until, i am satisfied, that the tannins won't leach alot into my tank. beware, you house will smell , lol..

I have 2 pieces that are at least 18", probably closer to 24", and then at least six pieces at least 12".

For the big pieces, can I hang half out of the pot with the other half hanging out?

What do I do with it after it boils? Just put it in my tank or soak it?

Let it steep overnight....or leave it in a couple of days if you like. You'd be surprised at how much tannin you remove.

IMO, however, I like the tannins in my water for my South Americans as it looks more like the real thing.
