help needed with jellybean parrots...

i recently got 2 jellybean parrots (unfortunately dyed) a week ago...
they were very aggressive to their tank mates so i've just kept both of them with a pleco...
the've divided the tank into two halves and each stays on their side of the tank....
i'm confused about their gender...i need help to recognize if both of them are males or females...i dont think one is male and the other is a female as they can't stand each other....please help....

also which other cichlids can i add to my tank except for convicts...?

Could you please tell us how big your tank is? Do you have pictures of your setup and each fish? What species is your pleco? One thing to bear in mind, jellybean parrots are naturally aggressive having inherited the genes of the convict cichlids thus they also inherit the convict cichlids' temperament in this case. Jellybeans are a ridiculous mix of several CA/SA cichlids and most certainly are very aggressive even as pure strains. Jellybean parrots grow no more than 3-4 inches but they show their capability to breed even at 1.5 inch in size as I have observed when I had them myself before. Depending on the tank size, chances are you cannot house them with anything especially when they easily spawn.

i will put up a video tomorrow...showing the setup of my tank....

i wouldn't be able to tell u the capacity of my tank cause i stay in india and here we do not get tanks according to capacity in gallons but size in feet...
mine is 2'x1'x1'....i dont know how many gallons it can hold....i guess the video would make it clearer as to what capacity the tank might be.....

i have a common pleco around 3-4 inches long...

would a convict cichlid pair be devastating for the jellybeans...??

i know that they do not have the skills to fight it out with aggressive fish of the cichlid family due to their deformed body structure... but are they able to withstand the attacks of the convict....?

It seems like your tank's about 30 gallins. I would not add anything else to you tank. You already have two known aggressive fish and you pleco... whick can grow HUGE
 
ok...i wont add any other fish to the tank...thanks....:)

what options do i have if i can upgrade to a 55 gallon tank...or even more...
which cichlids can be kept with the jellybean parrots...??

That would be 15g.

That pleco will quickly outgrow your tank. A 75g would have to be the minimum for one.

Jellybeans are just as feisty and nasty as the convicts are. Both jellybeans and convicts will readily crossbreed with each other.

I wouldn't advise adding any more cichlids with jellybean parrots. You could try dithers such as giant danios but really, jellybeans parrots are pretty easy to breed and can cause a lot of trouble for other fish.
 
i had kept 4 zebra danios (glofish) but one of them died a day after i had put my jellybeans in the tank....

i have put 4 silver dollars in the tank...would that be okay or should i remove them...??

the pleco is not mine...i borrowed it from a friend...in case it grows too large i'll give him back and get a bristlenose pleco for my tank....
 
Silver dollars are a much safer bet than zebra danios. As for the pleco, get rid of it while you have time but I would not bother getting another anymore if you want the jellybeans badly.
