XP1 or XP2 should be fine for your needs, no reason to consider the XP3. Personally, if interested in a canister, I would choose the XP2.

I have a rena xp3 for 90 gal aquarium and I have AC 70 on back. If I were you I would go for the xp3 and u wont need any other filtration. You should use the proper filter media maybe add some ceramic rings,a little filter floss in top compartment of either xps.
XP2 should be fine for your filtration, if you get an XP1, you'll probably need another filter, and a HOB would be undesirable for a planted tank.
