HELP!! PLEASE!!! EHEIM USERS!!!

I have a EHEIM 2080....brand new. Set it up as directed. Can't get the D***N thing primed. It runs for 20-30 seconds max. Then I have to re-prime the hoses (by the cap on the top. I plug it back in, press the prime once or twice and it starts up again for 20-30 seconds. I have been doing this for like 2 hours!! This is ridiculous!!! Can anyone offer advice? I have checked all my connections, and everything is tight. I have made sure my intakes are my intakes and my output is my output. I am at a loss as well as exhausted.

Someone tell me what I am missing!
 
Disassemble it and use a little vaseline on the ring between the motor housing and the canister body. Trying filling the canister with water first, then turn it on. Sounds like an air leak.
 
Didn't work. It's like the intakes are sucking in air. I took them apart, replaced the o rings...still nothing. I am soooo outdone by this thing.
 
I would reassemble the intake make sure it is seated nicely. Try holding the assembly under water and blowing into one end while the other is capped. See if bubbles escape. Pinpoint a leak.

Since it is new, have you considered returning for exchange? Might be a small crack somewhere.
 
So, I emailed EHEIM. I had the intakes pushed on TOO FAR...go figure. A half inch literally caused hours of misery. I pulled them back fired it up and it is running.
