Help please!! how to tie Moss and rocks together?

i was wondering how or what is the proper way to tie moss onto a rock?

do i use strings or with net(mesh)

You can use fiberglass mesh, plastic netting, or thread to attach moss to wood or rocks.

I tie it on with cotton thread, eventually the thread rots away and the moss is attached to the decoration.

or tiny rubber bands.

I find that rubber bands break after about 3 months, but if you're using it to attach moss, then it would work.

will 3 months be enough time for the moss to be attached to the rock?

I have mine attached with cotton thread the same color as the driftwood it's on, seems to be working well and doesn't show at all. My only suggestion is use quite a bit of thread, or it'll float a lot, I had to re-tie it twice before it stayed in contact with the driftwood enough to latch on.
