You need to do more than a 40% change to get those nitrites in the safe zone. Keep doing water changes until they are undetectable. Then, do them whenever ammonia or nitrite reach .25 ppm or more.

Ill do another change tomarrow but is this going to cause any problems with my fish or excessive stress.
Any exposure to excess ammonia or nitrates will cause problems. The severity will depend on length and levels of exposure. Do the water changes asap.
The stress is less of a problem than having ammonia and nitrite -- what did you condition your water with?
Not familiar with that brand and what it is supposed to do in terms of conditioning...but water changes will keep the problem from escalating.
I see nothing about removing nitrogen so it won't be of any use to you in this situation...you need to do water changes.
The API stress coat is a good conditioner, but what it won't do that prime does is neutralize the ammonia and nitrite ions and make them non toxic for fish but still available for the beneficial bacteria to use.
And I agree 100% with jpappy -- do another water change now, you HAVE to get the nitrite concentration down.
