I hate to keep draggin this thread out, but I have a question for you guys again.
I have had fish in my tank now for over a week. I test the water everyday, sometimes twice. I have only had traces of nitrites for a couple days. The ammonia as expected is between .25-.5 ppm everyday. I change the water everyday at least 20% to keep the ammonia down.
Today a friend of mine gave me his 10g whisper filter that has been in an established tank(as far as I know?), it has algae and crud built up all over it. My question is, do I need it? I already have a 10g. whisper running, but could this added filter help in cycling my tank faster?Does a 10g. tank need that much filtering anyway?
