I bought some hold fast epoxy and the lfs told me I could use it in the water , they said I did,nt need to take what I was trying to bond together out of the tank is this correct or did they not know what they were talking about like normal PLEASE ADVISE ME on this one . Thanx Dave E
 
If it's the clay-like stuff that you knead to mix; it's fine. Knead it outside and use it in the water. No harm will come to your tank from it. It is not super-sticky and will get a bit brittle in 80 degree water, but it works. I use it to attach corals to LR. Sets in 5 minutes, so work quickly,
