HELP REQUIRED. BICOLOUR ANGEL FISH

Whether or not the angelfish problem is related to the water quality, which it probably is, you DO have an issue with your water. The tank is cycling, and ANY ammonia and nitrite is extremely stressful to fish. I'm not sure what you mean by "working out the nitrite". Ammonia and nitrite are always zero in a cycled tank, and at this point your best option is a water change. Continue to do frequent water changes until the tank cycles.

Treat with medication such as Maracyn.[/QUOTE]

Ive given my first dose of maracyn and il keep yall posted on effectivness!
My tests are done by liquid.

Have you quarantined the angel, or are you treating your display? Your inverts will not do well with medication of any sort. Also, watch your water perameters closely. Being an antibiotic, Maracyn will kill off a lot of your biological filter.

Update

The tank is a few months old. The treatment for popeye says, invert safe. And im treating the display tank. Also treated with ammonia and nitrite reducer. Seems to be working slowly but surely.

ohh I would not have treated the MAIN TANK. I would of taken out the angel and QT him then treated him. Its no so much inverts but all the LR and LS that gets screwed up with meds. Coral also dont take to med either. I would try running carbon to get all the meds out of the tank ASAP. This is the downn side of having a SW tank you cant really treat the Main tank as med will mess up stuff.

Thats all well said and done. IF YOU HAVE A QT AND SUMP ECT.

Some of us aint that fortunate, but have to start somewhere.

A 10 gallon tank is $9.99 around here. A QT doesn't have to be anything fancy, and the cost is well worth it to not mess up the display tank. The ammonia and nitrite reducers are going to mess with your cycle and it will likely take a lot longer, and the Maracyn is probably going to kill what beneficial bacteria you do have.

Unfortunatly its too late, The main tank has been treated. All i can do is wait and keep yall updated.

I would also do many water changes- every other day at least. I'd do this to keep as much new water in there while diluting your tank with this new water. How often do you perform water changes and how much do you change?

It doesn't cost a fortune and anyone can have a QT tank. I'd also recommend treating in a QT while still performing water changes on your main tank.

What size tank do you have? What fish are in it?

If you have time, check out post #19 here:

It could really be pop-eye are simply from poor water quality at this point.

Please keep us updated. Can you post pictures of the angel?
