Update

Ok folks. My bicolour died yesterday. Unfortunatly my feather duster also seemed to have been eaten. So im greaving. Be gentle!
BTW:- nitrites are now down. after trying tons of differnt meds and water changes.

In my opinion Meds dont work and there disgustingly expensive, All is required more often than not is good old fasioned 24hr elbow grease.

Really sorry to be hearing this new mate....i mourn for you !!!!!

And i agree, i have always stuck by the practice on not adding things to the tank, i just believe they mask the problem, rather than finding the root cause of the issue and erradicate it there.....

Chin up dude...it happens to all of us....

RE:

It happens! These things are sent to test us. The thing is to learn from the mistake's we make, and make sure you don't let it happen again.

sorry for your loss..we all learn (hopefully) by our mistakes.

with the ammonia and nitrites out of whack it just made things that much more difficult for you.

I'd suggest you get a qt/hospital tank as soon as you can..it is very useful. I keep a sponge in a powerhead this always has cycled material you can use in a qt/hospital tank..

continue with the water changes until your tank has cycled/recycled..it is possible the tank was cycled and suffered a set back..these things are prone to happen with a young tank(less than 1 year old) the cycle can be a bit fragile in the beginning.

good luck and keep posting.

I got this book that says bicolor angels are " a notoriously short-lived indo pacific dwarf angel that fails to adapt or wastes away in most aquariums."
this is from The Conscientious Marine Aquarist. Don't feel too bad mabye it is just a bad species for the aquarium life.
