i had a hippo tang a while back that died of head erosion or lateral, not sure what its called. It was really weird because no other fish were affected. I fed it mysis shrimp and soaked it in selcon for mre nutrients, but it still died. now i have a kole tang and it recently has the same thing. i have had it for a while, maybe 2 weeks and it wont really take intrest in the mysis shrimp. So i feed it algae, beause it is all the kole will eat. i know it probably has erosion because of the lack of nutrients, but i dont know what to do now. i think i might get some garlic into the mysis shrimp so it will be a little more interested in them. i realy dont want my kole to die, so if any one can help me il greatly appreciate it. Also, i have other fish, lemon peel, maroon clown, and couple other small fish who are complety fine. water is perfcet. I did have a damsel that would nip at its tail but i quickly got rid of it, so now it has less stress.... p.s my tank has been running for about almost 2 years..:help:
p.s.s i will take a pic tomorow and post it.

Head and Lateral Line Erosion (HLLE) tends to be linked to poor water water quality, nutritive deficiencies and the protozoan Octamita (Hexamita) necatrix. Tangs and angels are especially susceptible. Improvement is acheived with the administration of stabilized vit C and vit D. Fresh and prepared foods should provide trhese, but you can make sure they're getting enough by adding vitamin supplements to their food.
