HELP: Setting up a 10gal sand tank.

10 gallon would be great for 2 or 3 Dwarf Puffers...they are the coolest little fish...I have a male and a female in my 55 gallon......im not sure if those are the same as bumble bee puffers but i think thay are. Only thing is if you get puffers...youre not going to be able to get bottom feeders like cories....I tried it and the puffers shredded my cories up....got to be careful what you put in there with them....shrimp are always good to have around...they will to some cleanup work for you and stir up the sand a bit as well.

oh hell yeah! im getting thos. anyone know a site for them thats cheep and good you would recomend for me to order??

those puffers are readily available, even my petsmart has them regularly

yeah il check petsmart, ima get some sand there too, how much sound shold i get for a 10gal?

And any other fish that are good with puffers to stur up the sand, how bout white tip catfishes?

Thanks

puffers (any kinds) arent very good community fish they will tear up almost any other fish besides (not always true) other puffers. my two puffers were great together then one just died (the other one would never ever let it get food). a lot of people say they need brackish water but mine is in freshwater

i guess it will just be 2 puffers then...seems kinda boring but do they play around alot or just swim like there lost.

If your Petsmart has them look very carefully because they are tiny little fish. My Petsmart stopped carrying them because their death rate was way to high (they lost 80-90% from all shipments). I used to see them and they would be so small and skinny it was kind of sad.
The dwarfs are a true freshwater species and do need to be in a species only tank. You should be able to keep 3 in a 10 gallon. Just make sure you have plants and places for them to hide since they will want to establish their tiny little territories.

do they HAVE to have plants? how about alot of rock stacks to make caves, tunnles, archs and ect.

I dont want to hassle with too much plants in a sand tank

im still thinking about rams...how bout them?
