Help, sick fish

well....

sad to say... after 12 hours... the tang has died.

this morning it was really struggling with its swimming (left circles only, bumping into everything).... this evening it wasn't really swimming at all (just front fins, spending more time upside down in a corner than moving).... and just now I checked on it... and it wasn't breathing.

I don't know what happened.... but its a sad day. :(

Happens.
We take risks with the pets we keep. Sometimes with disregard for properly housing some of the livestock. We learn from our mistakes.
It's Reef.

well, Skene I'd like to thank you for absolutely nothing.

My gf and I have been posting here for a little while to get guidance on our reef building. However, its comments like yours that really irritate me. I came here for guidance and for help, instead I'm chastised with your negative comments.

I wanted help. not riducule.

thanks for nothing AC.

Not really wanting to reply to this comment, but having already posted on this thread.....
I replied to the first post as soon as i saw somebody required help, with information which would of been of use to you, had you of had the patience to wait out the situation, something this hobby needs in spades almost as much as the large amount of reading required to keep up in a hobby of which the learning curve is as steep as can be.

The hobby is to be enjoyed by all and part of my hobby is frequenting this board to learn and help if I can.
I would, if I were as juvenile as you; suggest you were banned, but as you need to learn much it would only harm your fish.
Please learn we are here to help take it or leave it but please do not blame us for your lack of knowledge. wiz

.

thats alright.... ban me.

I'm done with this pathetic site anyways.
you people disgust me.

there are some good members here. you just aren't one of them.

see ya. asshats.

Not that I have to justify my actions to anyone but I will.
When I found out the tang was sick I posted here right away, we also called the LFS stores that we trust to give us information we need and were unable to get a hold of anyone. The logic behind putting her in the QT was that we would not be around to watch over her for a few hours so a place that she could relax and rest without the other fish picking at her seemed a good idea in a pinch. When posters suggested otherwise we moved her back as soon as we could get home and do it. Once she was moved back I sat infront of the tank and watched her, keeping away our crab and shrimp (the clowns took care of the damsles for me) for hours.
Our animals mean a lot to us, including our fish (I would have taken her to the vet if I had thought it would have done any good). We are new to the hobby and in my opinion are doing well considering we have only lost two fish in over a year and a half and neither was really through any fault of our own. (We did speak to our LFS friend and were told that if it was the anemone that stung her she had very little chance. And since she had been nursed back to health by the LFS store we bought her from I am willing to bet that that hindered the situation even more.)
Yes we made a mistake, I'm sure everyone here has and some bigger mistakes than this one. But the criticism and ridicule are not welcome, we take the advise here seriously and follow a lot of your recomendations even if not in response to questions we have posted.
I thank those who have helped, but I will not stick around to be criticised for my mistakes.
