Hello all!!
Well, it's been a while since I have had a fish that got sick that has stumped me.
I have a yellow tang I have had for a few months. When I got him I noticed that he was a little pinched, but I just assumed he just needed to get a healthy diet.
About three weeks ago I got a dog face puffer and he has been struggling with ich. I keep giving him fresh water dips to control it and he is still hanging on. I noticed that his ich (or at least I thought it was ich) turned black. I thought it was just because of the dips.
Now the tang, who has never had ich, broke out in these black spots the size of ich and it looks like he is hemeraging(sp??). He has red lines by his fin that looks like red blood vessels. Where the black spots are on his tail, they turned to holes. I can try to get pic, but I know they are too small. I someone could e-mail me step by step how to post pics I will gladly try -k-.
I just changed my 75 into a FOWLR, so I can treat him, or can I? There are still a couple mushrooms and a couple xenia, so if I medicate my main tank will I have a huge spike from them dying? Will my LR die?
I have a 15 quarantine, but I think it is too late for the tang. I think I should treat my main tank in case it is contages, unless someone on here knows what this desease is, and can tell me if I am going to loose my other fish.
If I treat with copper what will happen to my way established quarentine's bio?
I am not new to salt water, you can read my other posts, but I am new to FOWLR and treating sick fish.
Thanks for your help. :bowing:
