Perhaps a week or 2ish ago I noticed that one of my betta girls - Nadette, roughly one year old I think - was swimming a bit 'tilted'.

This morning I found her and she's completely tilted over on one side and can only spin in circles when she tries to swim. :help:

Since she was having trouble getting to the surface I moved her from the 29g to a 1g and tried to set some decor so she could rest on it near the surface.

After moving her I noticed that on one side she has a slight bulge past her middle.

Any idea what's going on??? And how I can help her??
Please help!
She's been getting worse all morning, I'm afraid I'm gonna lose her!

I've had probably close to 100 Bettas (male and female) over the years and 90% of them die with a lump on their side after a few yrs. I don't know if Bettas nowadays are prone to tumors or what the deal is. I've always kept them in tanks over 10 g with filters and heaters and fed them properly, always changed their water weekly. I don't feel it's been lack of care & I'm sure in your Bettas case it's not lack of care either.

tumor? Oh my..

Could it be swim bladder disorder?

Maybe. From the pics I saw she's not swollen in the correct place for sb, but some of the symptoms sounded right on. I figured even if it was a tumor, the 'cure' for sb didn't sound like it would hurt her, so I tried that. She does seem to be getting somewhat better. :) She's not spiraling anymore anyway.

But now her head is smaller... ??:uhoh:
