Help to choose new stock for my tank please?

I think it was 10 and 12. I figure a couple in the new 5gal, the rest in the 55gal. I am waiting to see if the another bigger tank pans out before I order anything more. Still balking on live plants, so I ordered some new plastic ones. Either way this will give more viewing time from where I sit most the day:)

:confused::eek: Couple inches of snow today/tomorrow have turned out to be over a foot by Friday. AND, yep, the fish were "out for delivery" today. They were not delivered by the time my husbands office closed at 5pm.

If they use a slip asking to pick up at post office it usually says delivery exception, or delivered, right?

Since I live in the boonies it can take a day or so to get to town after alot of snow. How long can they live in the box? They were picked up by USPS at 4:30 on Tuesday.

There are different types of heat packs that last different lengths of time. Hopefully they'll be ok, many times packages are kept in the delivery garage rather than left in the truck outdoors.

Good Luck! Fingers crossed for your new fish...& husband's drive to & from work. I don't miss snow driving at all. I'd gradually warm the fish to tank temps if they seem cold.

Storm came in sooner and left faster than forecasted, just under a foot of snow. Fish are home tonight. 4 doa, and a few questionable ones, but the others are already starting to school after a long acclimation. Pleased with the results, with the unexpected weather it could have turned out worse.

Thanks, but it turned out better than I thought. Both I and the shipper both checked the forecast before ordering/shipping, nobody knew it would go from <1" of snow to 15" by the time they arrived. Cost I pay for living in the middle of no where LOL.

The remaining fish from from the unfortunate March shipment are healthy and doing well in little 5 gal all in one aq (thumbs up).

Dear husband and my lil one were in a bigger town with a fish shop last week and brought home some glofish. They are doing well. I am not a fan of gimmick fish (or tetras in general), but they are growing on me:) Interesting they seem to be much hardier than I expected as they were wobbly after a long trip but recovered well.

I also acquired a magnet glass cleaner, it is awesome!! I do not have algae in this 55gal, but rather water lines from previous tank levels at the top that I could not wash off with a cloth, and it is does a fantastic job on erasing them. Years ago I priced these magnetic cleaners and they were out of my budget, they are more affordable now.

The last 2 tests on both tanks had great results. Despite my concerns as well as others here, the ammonia and nitrites remain low, Woo!! Ph is still high, as our water supply is......, but nitrates are not yet over 2.5.

Awesome! I know there a several "glowfish" now. First were zebra danios, then "black widow" tetras & maybe some others. IMO not nearly as terrible as "balloon" fish, GMO doesn't effect the longevity like "ballooning" can. Kids love bright colors, don't stress about it & hope "pinky", "bluey", et al are otherwise healthy active fish.

We're gonna need some pics soon of these extra pretty critters, lol

Phew!! I was worried about posting about Glofish:)

Pic from my phone, not great but an idea, yes, there is a blue one and a pink one on the other side of the AQ. Mesh bags hold the seasoned filter media from the old canister filter, both floss and ceramic hexs.

Too bad I did not paint the back of the tank before moving it into this room.... I will smooth the gravel and plant the plastic plants eventually......

Still watching the water parameters. Todays reading was a trace of ammonia, 0 nitrites and a trace of nitrates. I think there was more active BB in the canister filter media than I expected :)IMG_20160411_190904858.jpg
