Help! Trace Elements

i'm definitely no pro about plant ferts, but i don't like the sound of that and wouldnt use those.

that's a mildly educated guess, however. if you don't get any good replies soon, try PMing Rex Grigg. he knows his stuff when it comes to plants and ferts and such.

I feel the same way.... I think nickel maybe okay in low doses, but alginic acid is something I have no clue about....

(arugin was my transliteration from Japanese, but it should read: Alginic, Also the bottle says Origon, quick check of my dictionary says Origomer - not sure what this is or if its the same thing being referred to on the bottle. Im learning a lot of new Japanese Aquaria Vocabulary since starting this lifestyle!!)

i was about to tell you to buy american products to help when i realized your location.. that sounds pretty cool. japanese water gardens are the bomb diggity, man.

No, they should be fine and cause no issues for fish, at least those that are mentioed.

High Copper, and a few other trace metals can cause issues, generally shrimp are most impacted.

High copper might be bad, but no copper is just as bad for the plants.
Like most chemicals, too much, kills the patient, not enough does not cure the disease.

You need some copper.
Just not a lot.
Some vendors go too far and assume it's all bad, like NO3 and PO4 with plants, many assume that it's bad, yet the plant obviously needs a lot of these to grow.

Most folks today realize that NO3/PO4 are not bad, as long as they do not get extreme, like the copper, in the proper range that allows for good plant growth.
