How can I lower my trate level. Tank freshly cycled 0 amon 0 trites ph8.4 40% pwc yesterday washed haif my balls. Is it safe to wash the filter in my wet/dry or is this where all my good bact. is living. 120 lbs lr 40 lbs ls 110 gal
 
Well the bioballs can certainly be a nitrate trap but if I'm reading right this is a new tank and you did clean 1/2 the balls last week right? Is wet/dry new or just newly cycled for you? How much of a water change did you do after the cycle? You said pwc which I'm guessing means partial water change?
