Help Trying To Cyle Fishless But Confused!!

You started off right by adding the gravel and some water. All you have to do after that is add ammonia. Put in enough so that when you test it the level should read about 5 ppm. That is about a teaspoon for every 10 gallons. Try about 5 teaspoons and that should do it.

The bacteria in a bottles a scam....the types of bacteria we need are aerobic bacteria....in a bottle, THERE IS NO AIR and the bacteria will die....it cannot be dormant ...i believe the bacteria is dead...and the fact you have to put the bacteria in the fridge....i cna;t believe that either, because it will die off in inapropriate situations....
best method to cycle....is the fishfood, pure ammonia or a piece of raw fish method with a seeding from someones disease free tank (gravel, filter media, water)...
