Hi,

4 days ago i did a water change....i have 4 angelfish and they were healthy...1 day after the water change, my black angelfish had a wound bear its gils on the body....it looks as if some disease ate away its flesh...at the same time, theres all these very tiny white dots crawling on my glass wall....theres manby of them....i wipe them away and after 2 hours they build up again....i wipe them around 3 times each day....until today my black angel fish died.....i noticed that the fish didnt have appetite for the last few days....white fluffy cotton like substance built up around the wound of my fish....
Now i chucked out my dead fish but the white dots still exist....are these 2 problems related....
How do i remove these white dots...its worrying me....

my other 3 angel fishes look fine....no holes or wounds...they do seem to eat....

i didnt see any white spots....
should i do a water change....i want to get rid of the white crawling dots....

I don’t think the 2 problems are related – exactly. The crawling dots on the glass are likely planaria. If there are an excess of them, that means there is too much food for them. That being the case, then the conditions are also causing water-related problems for your angelfish. Cut down on feeding and step up on your water changes, including thorough gravel vacuuming. You may or may not decide to treat your angels with medicine but begin with pristine water conditions.

What is your previous cleaning/water change schedule? Also, please post exact test readings on ammonia, nitrIte and nitrate.

A water change wont help here unless you water is way outa wack.

We need to findout what the white things are. So your Black Angel didn't have any white dots on him. Did he have little worm looking things? Or did he just have a wound? I need you to be REALY specific on the details of whats on your tank walls on what was on the dead fish...

thnx for the help....
well my black fish had a pretty large wound....the wound was whitish....then white cotton like fluffy stuff was building up around the wound....i beleive those are fungus.....the stuff on my tank wall are really small.....their around 0.5mm long...i can see them move realli slowly...they are white....on my black fish....all there was is the wound i mentioned....some what flesh being eaten away....there were no white spots on it....the fish had no appetite...i was feeding my fish and didnt see it eat while the other 3 eats...
the black fish had some weird behavoiur....it always tend to swim up to surface and points its mouth to the surface as if it was trying to eat food that floats...(but its not trying to eat)....then it also tends to swim to corners and sides of my tank....seems that it tries to hide....also i saw a few times its mouth was somewhat fliniching....like it extends its lips and withdraws back realli quick..it kept doing that for like 1-2mins....

now what realli worries me is the white dots on my tank...are they copepods or parasite???any suggested methods to remove them???
