Help, used FLUVAL 204 w/ no manual!

Thanks, I did find the manual online...still haven't found the real copy but my garage is such a mess that I'm not surprised. It all sat out there for two months before we could set it up.

I'll call around the different pet stores to see who sells those fluvals. Do you think if there was anything bad on the used sponge that it will get cleared up by putting a new one in there? I don't have any fish in there yet...I want to get the aquascaping (?) right, then buy a heater, test kit, and plants/decor for it, then dechlor the water and *then* buy some fish. I can't wait to have some in there...I hope the ones we get for cycling will all make it through the process.

There was probably nothing bad on there--i wouldn't worry about it.
I would get the media, heater, dechlorinator all at once. The heater is important to the cycling. This way while you get the other stuff the way you want it, your tank will be cycling. Fishless cycling is best-the only way I ever do it-this will also improve the chances of the fish you buy first making it.

Will do, thanks :) And your tank is so pretty...loved the pictures!

By the way....I went to check the floss stuff and put new floss in there if needed because I'm trying to filter out dirt that is floating in the water...well I put the filter in a bucket first and then I opened the latches...water gushed everywhere...I latched it back finally and THEN decided to read the directions...thinking there had to be an easier way than removing the entire thing and openining it in the tub.......so THAT is what an "Aquastop" system is all about, LOL. Not one of my best moments!
