Well i was at my local fishstore, i saw a few of these cichlids looking fish. They were clearish grey, with black stripes like cichlids. They were kepted in a tank full of 5inch Albino oscars, i was surprised these guys didnt get eaten cause they was only about 2 inches.

Im planing to buy these once i get info on em. Only 3bucks each =p.

Thanks

im guessing convict cichlids.

Yea, and I think cons are a bit closer in water perams. to the oscars than the kenyis. Also the price makes me think cons, 2" kenyis arround here are $5-7. What shape are they? Long and skinny? Or shorter? Do the stripes go all the way down, or do they stop arround 3/4 of the way down?

Nope dosnt look a thing like the black convicts and kenyis above, There more of short, and rounder then cichlids and there more grey with blending in black sripes that go all the way around. There fins are kinda long too. Kinda like a oscars shape, but more slim.

Short, rounded, grey bodies with poorly defined black stripes. Similar in shape to an Oscar (somewhat typical SA Cichlid) but more slender. What features do you observe that aren't like these? It describes these fish pretty well, so any differences may help ID'ing.

they look KINDA like the black convics, but their fins and all were shorter and pointyer, kinda like a angel fishs tail fins.
