What nerdyguy said is exactly where I'm coming from and why I said what I said. The key here is *most* of the people. I would never recommend a betta in a bowl because *most* people cannot and will not look after them properly. You, obviously, can.*InR reason said:Roan, here I will disagree with you. I've had Bettas for years and have two of my seven Bettas in bowls. The water is changed at the least 2x a week and the room temp never falls below 73-74- so the water never gets too cool. They are healthy and happy fish.. actually among my favorite species of fish. . . .
There's always the issues of bowls. Just how BIG is the dang bowl? A bowl can be any size. Anything under a gallon and you are just asking for instant betta death. Just ain't right.
TheMightyQueenPixie keeps many of her bettas in bowls -- she's a breeder. She also knows what's she's doing and she has to in order to maintain quality stock. She's one of those exceptions. Sick/dead fish is no fish for her.
* 73-74 is actually too cold for bettas. *whistle*
