I have a female black neon tetra which I originally thought was carrying a clutch and was the reason she's gotten so large, but its been almost two weeks in the breeder tank and nothing's happened. Some suggest she may have dropsy, but her scales are pine combing out and I don't know if htey would due to the texture of their skin. She looks ready to burst and parts of her insides seems tobe tearing at her girth. Is this just normal for a pregnant tetra or are we talking serious disease here? Really need some help.

Sounds like dropsy. You need an antibacterial medication. Dropsy is sometimes caused by poor water quality. You do know that for tetras to breed she needs the male in with her? She drops eggs while he fertilizes them. They don't get pregnant and drop babies like livebearers. You probably know this but just checking.
