Help with Bumble bee goby

do you actually see them eat? Mine won't eat anything but live food unless I starve them for a week.. then they'll consider a frozen bloodworm or two.. They are super picky (and super dumb.. they don't seem to notice food unless it floats in front of their face).

wow! didnt know that there was that many species!!!
Yup. Only Brachygobius aggregatus and Brachygobius xanthomelas are true freshwater gobies. The rest would thrive better in brackish conditions. I tried the Brachygobius aggregatus before and they're easy to keep.

Only way of distinguishing their differences is to be observant with the number of rays on their dorsal and anal fins. Aside from that, most have different stripe patterns but this is hardly reliable to some of them.

And I THINK that the only way of tranferring fish TB to another is by eating the infected one but not entirely sure...could be a msinformed rumor.
I've gone to this before. I destroyed several of my fish in the process in my desperation to contain it. I tried my best to treat it but failed in all attempts. There isn't a cure for this. A powerful medicine will only kill the fish in the process as the stress from this disease brings its toll on the fish's immune system.

Transmission: eating infected fish, contact and even eating infected wastes

Only way to stop it is destroy all infected fish immediately.

yes I see them eat. They literally ATTACK the carnivore pellets. so much so that they get thrown up in the air. They also eat some flakes that fall down and any pieces of food that gets tossed up when the cories eat, but they mainly like to get it themselves.

how long does it take for symptoms to show? Ive had them for a week. He was fine until tonight.
The process is slow but painful for the fish. Mycobacteriosis can cause the fish to bloat, curved spines, open mouth, listless around the surface and eventually even whirl in most cases. Any suspected cases should be isolate immediately.

Do not think too much about this. Just be very observant for any abnormal behavioral changes.

well, I am sad to say the little guy in QT did not make it through the night :(. he was still hanging in there when I went to bed, but when I woke up and checked on him, he looked even worse, and no amount of provocation caused him to move :(. As of now, the two in the main tank are still doing good.

I have just posted the remaining two up in the classifieds for free. no use in bringing them back to the fish shop for them to keep them in fresh water too! and or sell them as fw. I posted some pics. they are adorable little guys but I don't want to keep them if I cant provide them with the proper home. and since I cant be sure if these are the "can tolerate fw" ones, I don't want to take the chance.

Sorry for your loss. I always hate it when BBGs die, they're one of my favorites.

I should point out again however, that BBGs don't do any worse in freshwater than they do in brack.

Nope, pretty much all species are indifferent towards whether they're in fresh or brack. Or at the very least, all of the commonly traded ones.
