I discovered I am fighting ich....

Just lost a very small clown loach that showed possible "skinny disease" and that another larger loach was flashing and has visible white spots on his body..

I am dosing with QuickCure atm ~50% strength. My stock is currently 2 juvie Firemouth, 3 Silver Dollars, 4 Clown loaches... I also picked up Jungle labs Ich clear

I will need to move this tank in the next few days and I am not sure how to handle this....

oh no

add some salt and do some wc the fish should be fine. still use you ick cure tabs

I'm in a similar situation myself (minus the move): ich, lost loaches, firemouth, silver dollar...I started initially with salt, but then switched to the API ich treatment...

Only thing I'll say here is that I haven't read about using salt AND meds, but maybe I just haven't read enough.

Good luck!

rdtrigger,
I'm new to this forum but have a 72 gal. malawi cichlid tank. We had a case of ick. Luckily we caught it early. They say that catching it early helps a lot in the difficulty of getting rid of the disease. Since we've treated our tank with heat and aquarium salts we haven't had a problem with it since. It's one of the least harsh ways to take care of the problem (although there are some fish, like ones without scales where this treatment is not recommended because of the salt). But Super Ick and other medicines work too, especially if you need it gone quickly. You did take out any carbon media, right?
Oh, I've also heard that sometimes aquarium salts can also help with parasites too (if that is what is wrong with your skinny fish).
